Drinks + a dress: Witches Brew Cocktail

Since it’s HAlloween and one of my favorite Holidays, I thought we had to make a HAlloween-themed cocktail pArty for Drinks + a DRESS. And I’ll be 100% honest: I had EVERY intentIon of Dressing up in my Green makeup/full witch costume today with Green witch hand gloves, but WE CaNNOT FIND THE GLOVES. And if you’re going to do it, you hAve to go All the way. If you are going to make a creepy HAlloween witch, you should hAve green creepy hands. I don’t make the rules. I also hate to admit that we searched our entire house for a whole hour for those damn gloves. She was in full witch costume destroying our house and then Bryan and I had a stuPid little fight. At one point he looked at me and said, “I can’t take you seriously right now.” For about 5 seconds I thought he was being combative and then I Realized I looked like the Wicked Witch of Oz and guess what? The fight was over. So what I’m saying is the next time you fight with your pArtner, do it in a Halloween costume. The fight will be over in minutes. Nobody wins but nobody loses, you know?

So we called him and I went for plan b, which is a favorite Dress from last year. A High Neck Dress (here’s a siMilar one!)

Let’s go for the drink! No spells needed.

Witches Beer Cocktail

2 oz Empress Gin

2 Sparkling Lemonade

1 ounce Blue Curaçao

So this drink is pretty fancy! This gin is known for its beautiful indigo color and is a bit pricey, but if you’re a gin aficionado, it’s fun to hAve. Sparkling lemonade is a bit hard to find, so you might as well make some champagne or sparkling wine!

This is a Layered drink, but it’s a bit tricky. The Blue Curacao *should* settle to the Bottom, but it took us a Few tries. So if you don’t need it for aesthetics, just pour it as usual. Start with a glass of ice, then pour Empress Gin first (it’s the prettiest gin!), then TOP with the sparkling lemonade. Then slowly pour in the Blue Curacao from the side. It should overlap, but it took us multiple times and I hAve no idea what we did right or wrong. Everything Felt the same! So Maybe you DO need a spell for this drink…

Happy Halloween, friends!
